Completing the Great Commission in South Sudan

Having completed our fall evangelistic campaign (Phase I) in South Sudan, and our campaign to conserve the harvest (Phase II), we began our Phase III campaign for completing the Great Commission.

Many of the activities are the same in Phase III as in Phase II, such as people getting saved, baptized, filled with the Holy Spirit, baptized with fire, receiving deliverance, healing, miracles, etc, as the new believers and existing ones continue to be discipled, attend Life Transformation Groups (LTGs), and be come part of the new fellowships, even as some new fellowships may continue to be established, elders appointed and set in.

However, the new focus is on discipleship, multiplication of disciples, and leadership development, (as well as possibly establishing more new fellowships as the need arises). Once we have appointed elders in these fellowships, they will serve under the oversight of our brother Henry (pictured above), who has been trained in our DTS and has years of experience in ministry.

Our Lord said in His Great Commission, which is our marching orders as soldiers of Christ:

"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Mat 28:18-20)

We are going, we are making disciples, we are baptizing them, we are teaching them to obey everything our Lord commanded the original disciples in the gospels, including the Great Commission, in which he commanded us to do all of the above. We are casting a vision for multiplication among the new believers, that if they do what we are doing, making disciples and teaching them to do all that Jesus commanded, then their disciples will also be making disciples and teaching them to do all that Jesus commanded.

Dear bro Len,

Thanks for your prayers, they are really helping a lot. I am currently in western Equatorial state. The journey was longer than expected due to very bad roads, insecurity threats as we were traveling. It forced us to have many stop overs because we are being advised by the community not to ride late hours. We could go, and reach somewhere, the community we find there would stop us and say let's not go forward (due to dangers ahead). So it could force us to stop over and even sleep there. Then embark on our journey the following morning. It took us three days to reach the state.

I thank God we were happily welcomed by the elder here, and other brothers and sisters in the Lord. We organized a revival prayer meeting where we are meeting from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, and I have people being delivered and filled with the Holy Spirit. Very many believers had scattered, but by the grace of God we have managed to reach them out, and many are coming back for fellowship. I will share with you my plans and programs as I am still this side for prayers, and guidance.

We have also had serious challenges with power, there's completely no power this side. They're using generators, and when you take the phone for charging, it takes really long to be full. Sometimes you are required to leave it there for one full day to two days. Sometimes there's fear that you may also lose the phone. Secondly the network is so poor. We are also facing serious threatening messages from the rebel groups in the area, the threats come to the entire state. It may limit us from reaching some communities. I have also conducted burial of one gentleman, who went and just threw himself in water. The river is called Nakpong. During that time, five people gave their lives to Jesus. I also went and prayed there ,because I was told that that river is evil, and many people have died the same way in the same river.

I apologize for being on and off but it's due to the very poor network this side and power challenges.

Your servant,
Bro Henry.
